Enhanced Gym Hygiene Procedures and Protocols
The cleanliness of our gym has always been a top priority for us. Based upon CDC, Texas Strike Force guidelines, and recommendations from local leaders and sport gym federations, we have developed enhanced hygiene protocols.
During classes our coaches will spray and wipe down equipment and high contact surfaces with disinfectant. Additional information about the products we will be using is below under Disinfectants. Coaches and students will frequently wash their hands during each class.
After Class Cleaning
After every class, we will use disinfectant to spray down the equipment and mats used in class. We will also spray the high contact surfaces such as the desk area, front door, etc. We will spray the bathroom surfaces. Classes are spaced out to let the product dry to allow for the proper contact time for disinfection. Spraying provides better coverage than wiping surfaces with a cloth. We will be using a standard pump action sprayer that provides a uniform fine mist.
End of Day Cleaning
At the end of each day, we will use disinfectant to spray down all our equipment and mats in the gym. We will spray the front office surfaces, bathroom surfaces and all high contact surfaces. The spray will dry overnight as this will allow for the proper contact time for disinfection. Spraying provides better coverage than wiping down surfaces with a cloth. We will be using a standard pump action sprayer that provides a uniform fine mist.
After disinfecting the gym, all staff will exit the gym. The gym will be ready for activity the next day.
We will be asking all students to bring their own filled water bottle to their classes. Drinking from the fountain will not be allowed. Since we have a no touch sport bottle filler, students can refill their bottles from the bottle filler.
Limited Facility Access
We are strictly limiting access to the building. Parents are asked to drop off their ninjas at our front door. Our front desk coach will check the ninja in and the ninja will go directly into the gym to a designated warmup spot. Each student will have their own spot and they will be at least 6' apart. They can take off their shoes at their warm up spot. One parent per ninja may watch classes in our viewing room. Please no siblings or friends to achieve social distancing. As per health guidelines, the wearing of a mask is encouraged in the viewing room.
Ninjas will be dismissed after class through the side door. This is to alleviate any crowding in the front lobby area after class.
We will be using a couple of disinfectants in the gym. All the products are EPA registered and are listed as being effective against germs, bacteria and viruses including Covid-19. These products are used by many athletic facilities.
